Happiness is a Choice

Happiness is a choice.

Today was no less than the other ordinary weekdays. Lately, I have been feeling a little bit bummed out because of some factors of life being totally unfair. But life as we know it, it goes on, and this melancholic state of our being is preventing us to think better--that we are trap in this unlucky circumstance for how long it would take.

But being miserable is just an option. Happiness, is a choice, not an accident we meet halfway down the road. Remember that life isn't always about gloomy days and mean people. Learn to accept it that way and it'll be easier. When something pulls you down, push yourself back up, refuse to stay down. You'll realize that it's worth in the end.

“I think happiness is what makes you pretty. Period. Happy people are beautiful. They become like a mirror and they reflect that happiness.”
― Drew Barrymore

Who you are outside reflects your inner self. You reflect your own happiness. Choose to be happy, it doesn't just happen. :)

Some Things Just Don't Go with Explanations

Like this outfit perhaps...

I just don't know how to name this look, but it worked, nonetheless. This is one of the outfits that I brought when we visited Liptong Woodlands, a man-made rainforest in Bacong, Negros Oriental.

This pretty knitted lemon cardigan was like screaming for me when I saw it hanging in one of the racks in my favorite thrift shop. I almost squealed with delight upon laying my hands on its vibrant lemon goodness. But, who wouldn't?! This piece has got a lot of potential. You can pair it with a black or white boring dress, and voila! Your look will get pretty in an instant!

What is it with fedoras that make you look like you're off to an adventure? Or is it just me? Weird, I know.

Work Outfit: Mustard Tuesday

Today, there is just that joyful feeling when you finally have the item on top of your wishlist. The search is over for a pair of mustard stretchy pants! (hooray!)

I woke up this morning getting eager to wear this look. I folded up my clothes the night before, getting ready for the next day. I'm just not that super excited am I? Oh I know you also had that kind of experience. So, here I am today, struttin' my new pair of mustard pants.

Like what Paolo Coelho always say, “When you want something, all the universe conspires in helping you to achieve it.”

Office Chic

Perhaps, people at work are already used to seeing my 'unconventional' way of dressing up, that one day when I was running late and just couldn't decide what to wear so ended up with the regular jeans and top, a colleague frowned at me and asked, "What's up with you today?" "Huh, nothing. Why?" I retorted. "You look so.... regular." He answered, and I just couldn't help but smile. "So, I've earned quite a reputation, huh?" I asked, my amusement a little too obvious. "Yeah, you can say that.

I'd say I'm quite pleased with what I just learned, because at least I know people notice and would just shake their head to the idea of including me in the 'regular' category.

So, here's one of those days when my lazy self decides to hide under the bed refusing to come out, causing THIS self to shine and break free.

Crazy over Blue

Oftentimes I wear this shorts and people really confuse it for a skirt. I bet you thought it was diba? Got you too! :D

I just can't remember how old this pair of shorts are. I think had it since I was probably in high school when my tita gave it to me (did I not gain any weight since then??haha!). Oh I just can't let it go. There is just something in it that makes me want to look for in my closet, either this white top or a darker shade of blue tee, or a pair of purple flats that perfectly matches it. And it makes people think it's a skirt too. But don't let your eyes fool you! ;)

Saturday

Yesterday, I finally had the chance to wear this mini dress that I ordered online. Yes it's supposed to be a dress but since it's too mini that people might see what they shouldn't see (now we wouldn't want that!), I decided to pair it with my bestfriend mr. fancy pants.

Though it was a 'no work day', Janjie and I were still busy with our Saturday. We already cooked up our plans earlier but then again failed to visit a boutique we were supposed to check out probably because we were too happy of the good buys we had from the ukay-ukay. Busy, busy, busy. :)

Early Birds and Worthy Worms

My day officially started at 7:30 a.m., earlier than my regular workday. My colleagues and I had to be in two early business meetings and I really prayed before I stepped out that the worms will be worth our being early birds today. Well, it turned out that they are more than worthy worms, and I am sooooo excited for the two big projects that we will soon be putting on our shoulders. I am really crossing my fingers for the pursuance of these BIG challenges.

Anyway, since I know this day is going to be longer than my usual, I made sure to put on pieces that will keep me going until the day's 'wrap'. And kept me going this outfit really made me! Oh, hey, look! That's my SOS jeans working its way right there. So, now you know how it always saves the day!

The Great Outdoors

Ah the great outdoors! Huge trees, green grass and a breath of fresh air equals an afternoon of relaxation..and fun!

Finally, we were able to reach Liptong Woodlands, a rainforest demonstration site along the Malangwa River of Liptong, Bacong, Negros Oriental. At the start of this adventure, we barely know which way to go, thus depended our travel to manong habal habal driver. I wasn't quite sure about the ride, but then, I found it to be fun and thrilling (my first ever ride). The road was not very delicate considering the tiny rocky paths and muddy soil and huge humps, but nonetheless it was very adventurous. The journey and the destination were all worth it.

See you again soon Liptong! :)

Ladylike

Being a lady is, well, that I had to google too (haha!). Not that I don't know how or be one, but there are misconceptions of it. As we read in books or seen in movies, a lady is well-mannered with high standards of proper behavior; thus, too formal, too old-fashioned...hence, boring in someway. A lady is too feminine, doesn't say what she thinks, and that only grannies care about being one.

It doesn't require you to be of great wealth, or in knowledge of all the do's and dont's of everything, but simply to be in control of yourself, be in balance of your true self and never stay off track with your life. Like they always say, "Confidence is key!"

I have so much to go through being a young lady. But oh my God, I feel like I can do anything. :)
