Seventy-first

This is this blog's 71st post! Hurray! Wow! It feels like only yesterday when Jhet and I were so giddy and uberly excited to make this blog! Oh.... the thrills whenever we publish an outfit post, and the little leaps and celebrations whenever our page views go up! Oh... what fruitful three months those had been!

When I look back, I sometimes see a pattern in my style. There were some posts where I see that I've been crazing over a specific look, but most of the time, there's variation. When someone asks me what my style is, I just don't know if I can call it with a specific name. It's just varied, inspired by some of my favorite bloggers, but mostly, safe. It's sad that that's what often works for someone who works at a university, like me. Well, I'm not one into standing out particularly (I wish what I've been wearing do not make me do), and I often wish I know what those H-to-T stares from the students mean whenever I pass them by. I'm crossing my fingers that I'm keeping an admirable record though.

So, here's a basic safe look that's composed of pieces with neutral shades. After all the color-heavy posts, why don't we let our eyes take some rest. ;)

The Greatest Adventure is What Lies Ahead

“The greatest adventure is what lies ahead.
Today and tomorrow are yet to be said.
The chances, the changes are all yours to make.
The mold of your life is in your hands to break.”

― Glenn Yarbrough

One down and three more days to go, I’ll be leaving work off to God-knows-where. Here again comes the positive side of me, embracing what’s life gonna be like. Jobless and all. They say it’s all mixed emotions, that I prove true. Plans? None really, to be honest. Chances are rarely given and opportunities only happen once. Should these blessings come, I’m ready to take it.

We Mock What We Don't Understand

  - Spies Like Us -

At times it's easy to talk and express an opinion about something, even if it is but an act of sheer folly. At times, we speak just for the sake of being able to say something, even if it is but a display of pure mediocrity. We tend to mock and joke about a thing, unmindful of the ballyhoo of our ignorance.

Girl Next Door

Finding this oxblood high-waist shorts was one of those ‘hallelujah’ moments for me! I have been tearing down all the corners of my little city in desperate search for one, and on one lucky day, I finally found it! The. Perfect. Oxblood. High-Waist. Shorts. Tadaaah!

When I went home then, all giddy and excited, grinning like a crazy child, that’s when I realized that I have the biggest problem anybody could ever have encountered (okay, I’m exaggerating. Hihi…) – what do I pair this friggin’ shorts with?! It’s awesomeness does not deserve a regular tee, don’t you think? So, while I was top-naked, with just this shorts on, I decided to go beyond my available resources, and took advantage of my sister’s absence. Haha! So I rummaged through her piles and saw this sweater. I just grabbed it like a guilty shoplifter and put it on, snatched my backpack from its racks, slipped on this pair of flats, and I was out the door!

Seeing now how I looked like that day makes me feel that it was not such a big mistake after all. I think I still was able to work the look. What do you think?

Start the Year Right with sulit.com.ph!

E-commerce has indeed gone a long, long way since its introduction into the business world in the year 1979 when online shopping was invented. Today, you can buy and sell practically everything online!

For career women, like myself, this technology is a total life-saver! Not only are we saving a lot of precious time, we are also able to utilize our energy intended for shopping for a more productive and important undertaking.

Personally, I am not really fond of purchasing stuff from foreign shopping sites. Not only is it way more expensive - what with shipping and Customs costs - I am also not the very patient kind, who waits for weeks or months for my purchased items. Good thing, the Philippines has its own trusted Classified Ads Website, sulit.com.ph.

True to its name, sulit.com.ph offers the cheapest and most trusted products from their equally trusted sellers.  And with the Feedback Score tab strategically placed in the seller's profile, online buyers will have an idea of the selling performance of the sellers.
Browsing the site often, made me come up with this 10 SULIT MUST-HAVEs list (seriously, you should keep a similar list, too, to serve as your online shopping guide).

1. First, this sexy plain blue dress that I might just about to buy like... oh, right now!

2. Super affordable fashion necklaces, anyone?

6. How about a supply of pretty dresses all-year-round? ONE-EIGHTY-FREAKING-FIVE PESOS! Wow! Seriously, this seller is a must-check. Click the photo to check out the other dresses available!

9. Now, this DEFINITELY is a must-check for you, lovies out there, who are not perfectly confident with those extra flabs. I want one so bad, I wanna weep! I have contacted the seller, and she's extra friendly, too! Click the photo and see the many famous stars she has sold these slimming corsets to. I definitely am getting one soon!

10. And last, but definitely, not the least, is this brand new elliptical trainer; so I can finally start my resolution to get healthy and fit! This, however, might be delayed as some serious money-saving efforts are involved. Phew!

So, there, my friends, are my Sulit Must-Haves for this year! How about you tell me yours? Okay, to encourage you more to reveal your own Sulit Must-Haves, how about I tell you this?

You have the chance to WIN FOR YOURSELF a P10,000 worth of Sulit.com.ph GC’s! Yes, you can win that much just by telling me your own list of ten things with just the name of the item and the link of the ad from Sulit.com.ph.

Post a comment below with the following information: full name, Facebook profile URL or Twitter ID, list of the ten items with the link. For example:
It's that easy! So, come on now and make your own list! Oh, and please tell your friends too!

Life is Better in Color

Recently I have been addicted to colorful stretchy pants. It’s definitely fun to wear since you could pair it with a contrasting colored blouse or with heavy designed tee. Whatever suits your day. I've always worn colorful outfits whenever I fear boredom is gonna strike my beautiful day. It helps fight the not-so-good-moods-and-auras-from-other-people trouble. And you'd be like a walking rainbow. Now, ain't that something? ;)

Life is indeed so much better if it is in color. We should always see it as it is. Trust me, it's better that way.

Checkered

I wore this outfit yesterday and couldn't help noticing a few wide-eyed gazes from around.  This pair of boots, maybe? But of all the stares and unspoken thoughts, now and then it just makes me chuckle. I’m still trying to get used to it whenever I wear anything with a statement of my own. Sometimes, we have to give a little break from our regular comfy clothes and experiment a little. Who doesn't?

Notice those? Yes, those are trees right there! Haha! A rooftop shoot for a Sunday afternoon. I'm just glad I'm not acrophobic.

Rooftop

I love Sundays! It has always been my favorite day of the week. Four years ago, I have loved Sundays even more because it has become family & Jheck time. Soon, very soon at that, I know I will love not only Sundays, but also Mondays, Tuesdays, and all the days of the week, because I will be spending it in this house Jheck and I built with love.

Here's starting the many Sundays to come in style. Jheck took this at the rooftop of the house's first phase. We were off to church then after we spent the afternoon cleaning the construction debris and planning.

I love how this dress can also double as maxi skirt. The lace at the top and bottom of the skirt is love! So pretty!
This is my favorite pair of ballet flats. They're from Solemate, and they're the comfiest and lightest shoes ever!
