DIY Collar Necklace

Materials:

Felt (2 sheets)

Beads

Paper chord

Template

Tools:

Scissors

Glue gun/stick

Pen

Using your template (you can download some online, or try sketching something you prefer, like what I made), trace two patterns on your first felt (this is for the base) and cut. Glue patterns together.

Sticking time! Glue all those beads on your felt pattern just the way you like them.

Use that creativity in you!

Flip over felt and attach paper chords (you can use ribbons depending on your preference).

Using the other felt, trace the same pattern, cut and glue. This serves as your necklace back cover and to support the weight of all those beads. ;)

And voila! Your very own beaded collar necklace! ;)

Making Life a Story

Jhet and I ended our weekend with our first take on DIY and a movie date with the boyfs. And what an enriching movie date it had been, what with Life of Pi on the big screen. The movie speaks of faith, of hope, and of never giving up no matter what. It's amazing how one author can put together such a lessons-filled story with only a young boy and an adult Bengal tiger as characters. Everyone really needs to watch the movie. Believe me. You. Must. Watch. It.

So, here's what I wore to the movie date. I'm all red and yellowr! haha! I can't believe it took a year for me to finally use this pretty Celine clutch that I got as a present from my former boss' wife (Thank you, Ma'am Joy!) last Christmas of 2012. I knew I was saving it for some special occasion, but I just totally forgot all about it until the other day when I rummaged through my closet. Phew! What a waste, I know!

Denim on Denim

The first workweek of the year ultimately spelled B-U-S-Y! All the tasks that were left last year and the many new ones, all came smashing and tormenting and stressing me out. But I could not be grateful enough, because as Thomas Edison once pointed out, “Opportunity is missed by most people because it is dressed in overalls and looks like work.” Heck, yeah! Come on all you overalls-clad opportunities. Me not afraid of you! (teeeheee)

Anyway, I ended my BUSY week with this take on denim-on-denim. I am supposed to pair this soft denim polo with a denim midi skirt in the same color, but realized that I’m going to be in two meetings after work and I usually bring a lot of stuff home with me on Fridays. Skirts need extra caution and finer moves, but I know my schedule practically requires me to go running around.

A lot of things are also lined up for my weekend. Phew! I got two items on my list done already. Hopefully, I will be able to accomplish everything before Monday starts.
